Finally after a long wait, Google owned Motorola today launched it’s new flagship Android smartphone Moto X. The speciality of the device is it can be customized in lot of ways.Currently the phone is available through multiple carriers in USA.
Moto X features a 4.7-inch AMOLED display with 720p pixels resolution taking the pixel density to 316 ppi. It comes with Moto’s new X8 Mobile chipset with 1.7GHz dual-core based Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and the latest Adreno 320 GPU for better user experience. The Moto X is available in two variants with 16GB and 32GB Internal Storage, with 2GB of RAM.
Moto X features a 10MP Clear Pixel rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera, both of which are capable of shooting 1080p video. For long lasting usage the smartphone is powered by a 2200mAh battery. Connectivity option includes 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, Miracast Wireless Display, NFC and a nano-SIM.
Let us see the customizable feature that Motorola has been hinting at?
Customizable Look
Well, to start with, the buyer can choose between 18 colours for the rear panel with 7 colours for the accents, and 2 for the front edges – white or black. The accents include the ring around the camera lens and the volume rocker and power button on the side.
The other interesting option is the user can get his name or a message engraved on the rear panel of the smartphone. In all there are 504 different customizable combinations available with Motorola MOTO X. The company is also testing wood as an option for the rear panel. there is also a choice of matching Sol Republic JAX in ear earphones with the device.
New Notifications!
With active display technology, the user will see time, active notification like message, missed call and so on. The display comes to life showing the time and notification when the phone is pulled out of pocket or turn it up from face down, t. Since the display on the smartphone is AMOLED, only the required portion of the display lights up. If you have a bunch of notifications, the smartphone will show you what it thinks is the most important one. Swiping up on the screen will take you straight to the app of the notification.
New UltraPixel Camera
Other then that the MOTO X featrues a Clear Pixel technology 14MP camera, which helps the sensor to absorb more light giving the camera better low light shots. If you flick your wrist twice with the smartphone in your hands, the camera app will launch irrespective of what you are doing on the smartphone.
Upgrade Voice Commands
With new upgraded Google voice service, the smartphone is always alert and can be accessed by a simple voice command. the use could command the smartphone to send a sms, mail, and make a call or simply do a Google search. One of the best things about the smartphone is that it is trained to your voice so even if anyone else in the rom says, “OK Google Now”, the smartphone wont react unless the voice is yours.
Overall, the Moto X smartphone provides some really interesting and unique features. The hardware under the hood is built for optimal use with the software on the smartphone. If the battery life of the smartphone is acceptable, we think Motorola has a winner on its hands with the Moto X device.
The 16GB version of Moto X will be available at a price of $199 with a two year contract on on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, while the 32GB flavor (an AT&T exclusive) for $249. As of now there is no announcement regarding the contract free MOTO X availability.
